Hollywood Reporter confirms that Kate Winslet is officially part of the Divergent cast.

The indie studio is also starting production in April on Divergent, Summit/Lionsgate’s adaptation ofVeronica Roth’s YA novel that, like Hunger Games, is set in a dystopian future.
“We have a great cast, rapidly taking shape,” Feltheimer said, pointing to Shailene Woodley and Kate Winslet already on board.

Now, the real question is who will Kate Winslet play?

A little late, but okay: Shailene Woodley is going to play the role of Tris Prior in the Divergent movie.

It’s not the way I imagined her, but if they dye her hair blonde this could work for me. (But only if they dye her hair blonde. Otherwise I’ll be disappointed.)

Book review #6: Matched by Ally Condie

Summary:
In the Society, officials decide everything: Where you live, who you marry and when you die. 17-year old Cassia has always trusted the society’s choices. She has always lived by the rules and it seems she has a bright future ahead of her. When it turns out that she is matched with Xander, her best friend, Cassia is certain that they belong together. But when a second face appears on the matching screen, her world changes. Certainties become uncertain, determination makes place for passion, and Cassia is facing an impossible choice.

Reading experience:
I had never heard of this book before, until Irene gave it to me as a birthday present. (Thank you, Irene!)
My first impression of this book (before I even opened it) was that the cover’s really pretty. There’s a nice glossy picture on the front that makes it stand out for me. I see a lot of books with black/grey/white covers and not so many with colorful covers. (Or maybe that’s just me, I don’t know.)

The story starts when Cassia and Xander are on their way to the matching banquet. You basically come in in the middle of something, but you’re pulled into Cassia’s world soon enough.

Memorable passage from the book (spoilers):

“I know what the green and blue tablets do. I don’t know anyone who knows for certain what the red tablet does. There have been rumors about it for years.”
All adult citizens in the society carry three tablets with them: green, blue and red. Everybody knows what the green and blue ones do, but nobody knows what the red one does. I thought this was strange. It hints that the Society is maybe not so good and not so certain as it seems.

Rating (1-10):
I give this book an 8. I thought the first half wasn’t as exciting as the second half and that’s ofcourse because there’s more action in the second half. However, I was very curious to what decision Cassia would make and that made me keep reading throughout the whole book.

As you might (or might not) have noticed, we haven’t posted anything in a while, but don’t worry: We haven’t forgotten about you or this blog.
Irene and I have just been busy with other things for a while and didn’t get to making reviews, but we will be back with new reviews soon!
I’m rereading Matched (Ally Condie) right now, and as soon as I’ve finished it I will post the review! :)
